A Coldharbour Engagement
Last March, ESO unexpectedly changed my life. I had been playing for about two months and was enjoying it, but because I am an introvert, I began to encounter problems when I wanted to take on dungeons alone. I was in Coldharbour being annihilated by hoards of Dremora when I finally decided to request aid. I scrolled through the list of guild members, searching for a player in the zone around my level who also had the least intimidating username possible. And that's when I found GoSeeBananaFish.
BananaFish and I battled through the Dremora together in our mismatched armor. We got along incredibly well. Once we had vanquished the Dremora, we exchanged goodbyes and, although we had enjoyed our time together, we believed we would never speak to each other again. Except we did. We began to speak almost every day.
We leveled up together and became fast friends. At first, we were hesitant to share personal information, but over time we discovered that we lived only 1,000 miles apart. In July 2016, BananaFish and I met in person for the first time. The following month I visited him in New England. Soon we were playing ESO together in person!
Last October, I moved from North Carolina to New England. We have been engaged since July 2017. ESO gave two introverts the ability to connect when we otherwise would have never met.

Language is No Barrier
One year ago while in Cyrodiil, I met the most patient, kind, and amazing Polish guy. We became daily ESO friends, but he couldn't speak English, only write in it. During our time together, he has pushed me to undertake tasks I would have never done without him, and he's helped me build a confidence I never thought I'd have. After frustrating months of not being able to communicate, I finally got him into party chat, and I slowly taught him to speak English. This is probably my proudest ESO moment, but I'm also very proud of my best friend becoming one of the finest players in the game.
Thank you, Bartek for being such an amazing friend!

Lucas Answers the Call to Action
It was a Friday evening, and like every Friday, my PvP guild was going to host a Cyrodiil event with our elite warriors. The time to fight was drawing near, and the event was about to start… however, we were informed that the leader couldn't make it due to unforeseen circumstances. I was heartbroken, as I was preparing myself the whole day.
It was then that the Guildmaster called all of us in voice chat and said “So, who would be willing to replace our missing leader?" We all had at least a basic grasp of how to lead groups, but no one really wanted to take the crown…except for me. To me, those words sounded like “Who among you is brave enough to usher a new age of peace and law!?" I accepted his proposal, got the group together, armed them, and started discussing our plans and tactics.
It was a bloody-but-glorious night, and I remember that there were more players in Cyrodiil that night than during any other that I had played on. The most memorable moment was during a battle in the courtyard of Castle Roebeck. The Dominion mounted an offensive to reclaim it from the Covenant. As the inner wall gave in to the massive bombardment of elven siege engines, my inner roleplayer took control and I remember shouting in voice chat “For Auri-El and all our ancestors!" I got so immersed that I truly believed that I was an Elven commander fighting in the Three Banners War. We punished everyone foolish enough to stand against the Dominion that night.
Thank you so much for providing me with such an amazing experience ZOS!

All Hail Empress Alessia!
My story becomes our story because it is the story of how my little family came to be thanks to our love for the TES franchise and ESO. I am a veteran MMO player, and was the leader of the ESO chapter for a large online gaming guild. @Yakuruto (his real name is Rigo) applied to the guild and eventually became one of my recruitment officers. ESO was his first and only MMO. We played together nearly from launch, and eventually we fell in love with each other.

I moved back to the US from Germany in August of 2014, and Rigo, a few of my other officers, and I all made plans for a road trip to Missouri to meet each other at the beginning of September 2014. Rigo picked me up, and we spent a few days together before we were supposed to meet the rest of the group.

Rigo drove back home to Reynosa, MX and found out not long after that that he was being transferred to a new location and position with his work. I flew down to stay with him for a week in November 2014. I then went back again a little before Christmas in 2014 and spent Christmas with his family. In February 2015, I moved to Villahermosa with Rigo, and we discovered that I was pregnant in April 2015. We gave birth to a beautiful and healthy little girl a month too early on October 24th, 2015 via emergency C-section.
We spent a lot of time tossing around names as we prepared ourselves to be parents. Eventually, Rigo asked me, "What about Alessia?" I instantly knew where that name came from and I loved it. It was the best way I could think of to pay homage to how we met and still give our daughter an amazing name.

We now live as a happy little family in Oklahoma and still play ESO when Empress Alessia is asleep. It's amazing how time flies, and how circumstances lead us to where we are today!
