THE DRAGON LEGIONARY
Nazg is a typical Orc: strong, fierce, and always up for a fight. As a true-born mercenary, his story starts when serving in the Aldmeri Dominion army as a sellsword. He finds himself fighting Daedra and the armies of other alliance players on the narrow streets of the Imperial City. You can meet him, too... just search for the biggest fights within the city, or follow the scorched remains of Daedra and soldiers in the sewers who tried to stop him!
He's my Stamina-based Dragonknight tank/damage dealer build, made for small scale and solo PvP, and perfect for the streets of the Imperial City. I hope you'll enjoy this build as much as I do!
Primary Bar (One-handed and shield)
Nazg never forgets to bring his axe and shield to a fight. I always loved the tanking style of my Dragonknight, and a true legionary always has a shield!
Searing Strike (Unstable Flame) - A great damage-over-time ability with a nice starting hit. This is my main single target DPS ability (apart from constant bashing!). Slash your enemies with flames!
Vigor (Resolving Vigor) - Now that this ability is available much earlier in the assault skill tree, I encourage everyone to use it. Its healing is great, and it's also indispensable in small group encounters where you can heal your allies, while tanking your enemies.
Shield Charge (Invasion) - Gap closer and stunner. What else is there to say? Shielded Assault is also good, if you want a bit more protection.
Reflective Scale (Dragon Fire Scale) - A favorite skill of sorcerers and archers, I use it constantly in encounters with spellcasters. The trick is to use it when you see the projectile coming towards you, or those nasty meteor runes at your feet.
Inferno (Flames of Oblivion) - A great toggle skill for a little bit more weapon critical. Plus, those fireballs every 5 seconds can hit much harder than you'd think!
Ultimate - Bat Swarm (Devouring Swarm) - While wandering the wastes of Rawl'kha, Nazg found himself near a strange altar at midnight. Now he hunts on the streets of the Imperial City. This vampire Ultimate is a great for support healing and damage skill. If you need some extra healing, or just want those bats to feed on your enemies' health, just pop the swarm where the fighting is the fiercest.
Secondary Bar (Dual Wield)
Sometimes you have to drop your shield, and jump into the fray with two swords. If you need some more AOE damage, here are my suggestions.
Hidden Blade (Flying Blade) – Sometimes you have to hit an enemy from a distance. If you spot an enemy on the balcony, and he tries to get away, this skill will do the job.
Spiked Armor (Hardened Armor) - An Orc tank cannot have enough armor or protection. I always use a protecting skill here: hardened armor hits those Nightblades who try to kill you with their blades, while Igneous Shield will increase those Vigor heals. The choice is yours.
Whirlwind (Steel Tornado) - A hard hitting area-of-effect damage skill, which is even more powerful on the narrow streets and alleys of the Imperial City. I love to rush into the enemy group, and then use this skill at least twice before switching back to my primary bar.
Caltrops (Razor Caltrops) - A great utility skill for PvP, and it's even more useful (and annoying for your enemies) in the choke points of the streets. It has great damage as well.
Inferno (Flames of Oblivion) - Again, so you don't have to toggle it on and off.
Ultimate - Bat Swarm (Devouring Swarm) -You have to have a vampire skill on both of your bars to use those passives, and Devouring Swarm is always a good ultimate choice!
Attributes and equipment:
I use the new really nice Black Rose set from the Tel Var vendors in my alliance base. It's a great set for a Stamina-based tank, and though I converted most of the set to Imperial Style (I can't resist legionary look), my helmet proudly proclaims that I'm a member of the forever glorious Aldmeri Dominion. I also use some medium armor pieces, because Stamina handling is very important in PvP fights.
Right now my equipment is:
- 5 piece Black Rose
- 2 piece Night's Silence
My attributes are 64 points to Stamina (one can never has enough), the Black Rose gear with health glyphs provide me with enough HP to last in my fights.
I'm using Warrior Stone at the moment, now considering Serpent also, but I'm satisfied with this build.
I've allocated my Champion Points in ability cost reduction, Stamina regeneration, block and bash cost reduction and physical damage increase.
Race: I've always wanted an Orc brute character, but any race with nice melee combat and tanking passives is a good choice for this build.
Passives: I use all of my class passives, Vampire, Fighters Guild, weapon, and armor passives.
