THE NUMIDIUM REBORN
Most Tamrielic scholars believe that Lord Kagrenac was the most powerful magecrafter in the history of the Dwemer. It was he who discovered the Heart of Lorkhan, and he who crafted the tools required to manipulate the divine power of the heart. Kagrenac used this heart to create The Numidium, the most powerful weaponized Dwemer automaton ever constructed. I have uncovered the secrets of the heart's energy and have drafted plans for crafting and imbuing the requisite equipment and training you to harness its unfathomable power. I give you The Numidium Reborn.
This build is intended for PVP utility and can very easily be adapted to any class. I find that the most important tactic for me in PVP is to stay alive at all costs because deaths can cost a lot of time and hinder AP gains. This build achieves that goal and also provides decent healing ability and offensive utility with a very valuable speed boost in resurrecting allies.
Race & Class
I play an Imperial for the 12% boost in max Health and Stamina. The Templar healing niche and 20% boost to resurrection speed also works well with the build. With resurrection timer passives from the Templar class, Kagrenac's Hope set, and the Support skill line, my resurrection timer is reduced from 5 seconds to a blazing 1.25 seconds.
Attributes & Mundus Stones
Attribute Distribution: 60 Health, 1 Stamina, and 1 Magicka.
Mundus Stone: I use The Lord for a sexy multiplicative boost to Health from the Imperial passive and Divines Traits. Also, this Mundus Stone buff is great because it increases the strength of Blazing Shield, which creates a shield for 30% of your maximum Health!
Armor & Weapons
Armor, Traits, and Enchantments: Five pieces of heavy armor are the backbone of this build for hefty damage mitigation. I also use two pieces of light armor. My preferred Traits for this build are Reinforced on head, chest, and legs, and Divines on the rest. I use five +Magicka enchants and two +Stamina enchants.
Weapons: One-Hand and Shield for extra damage mitigation, and Restoration Staff for support healing and refilling Magicka.
Armor/Accessory Sets :
Five pieces of Kagrenac's Hope for the 25% decrease in resurrection time. For aesthetic purposes, it makes sense to use the Dwemer motif to craft this set since the original Numidium was a Dwemer construct.
Two pieces of the Engine Guardian's set for additional Health regen and the ability to summon a helpful Dwemer automaton.
Three pieces (all jewelry) of the Footman's Fortune to boost to max Health and physical resistance.
Two pieces (One-Hand and Shield) of Alessia's Bulwark to boost to physical resistance.
Champion Points
This is player discretion, but here is a guideline for how I prioritize points:
Mage: Place at least 30 points in Blessed and Elfborn for more effective healing output. This opens up Spell Precision, the +12% Spell Critical chance passive.
Thief: Arcanist and Mooncalf (The Lover) and/or Magician and Warlord (The Tower) are great pools to fill first.
Warrior: Place at least 30 points in The Lady to get the Spell Absorption and Resilient passives. 10 points in The Lord is also a good option for the 15% incoming damage reduction while resurrecting an ally.
Note: I have also enhanced this build by becoming a vampire for the +10% Magicka/Stamina regen, and the Undeath passive to help with damage mitigation.
PRIMARY WEAPON: ONE HAND AND SHIELD
Defensive Posture (Absorb Magic) – This adds more passive block mitigation and gives a relatively inexpensive Stamina-based heal when you are being focused.
Shield Charge (Shielded Assault) – This is both a great offensive and defensive ability because it stuns an enemy and gives a damage shield. I like to zip around knocking people off their feet, which creates opportunities for our group's DPS to kick them while they're down.
Caltrops (Razor Caltrops) – This is a must for defending Objectives in PVP, but I find myself also using it successfully in the open field.
Sun Shield (Blazing Shield) – This is another great defensive ability with a formidable area-of-effect burst when you're taking the heat. This can be substituted with Bone Shield (Bone Surge) for non-Templars or for added utility. It is also a survivability staple for this build.
Immovable (Immovable Brute) – This is primarily for reduced cost of break-free but occasionally for Major Ward if incoming damage is hot and heavy.
Ultimate: Barrier (Replenishing Barrier) – Our group always casts Barrier on a rotational basis to help us steamroll enemy zergs.
SECONDARY WEAPON: RESTORATION STAFF
Rapid Maneuver (Retreating Maneuver) – This ability is a must-have for getting around in Cyrodiil. The +40% movement speed and snare cleanse makes it irreplaceable.
Regeneration (Mutagen) – This is a great utility heal with an additional heal-over-time, an emergency heal, and an emergency purge, all baked into one cast.
Purge (Efficient Purge) – Because Fire Ballistae will melt you into a puddle.
Rushed Ceremony (Breath of Life) – This is a great clutch heal for Templars. Non-Templars could go with another class ability, Steadfast Ward (Restoration Staff), or possibly Resolving Vigor (Assault) if it is unlocked.
Restoring Aura (Repentance) – In the heat of battle, friends and foes are dropping dead all around you. This spell helps reclaim the essence of all nearby dead and refills Health and Stamina of allies in the area. It also provides a 10% passive boost to Health, Stamina, and Magicka regen. Non-Templars can substitute any healing, shielding, or buff ability here.
Ultimate: Barrier (Replenishing Barrier) – As mentioned before, our group always casts Barrier on a rotational basis to help us steamroll enemy zergs.
