Today, we're putting another guild into the Guild Spotlight: “Lux Dei." Learn more about this band of seasoned PvP players, below.
As part of the Aldmeri Dominion, the German speaking guild “Lux Dei" swore its allegiance to Queen Ayrenn, defending the Dominion's holds in Cyrodiil. With both PvP and PvE events happening almost every day a week, this guild offers lots of different things not only to their members, but players outside as well. Would you like to join up with priests, movie stars, and bathing enthusiasts?

Lux Dei
What is your guild's name? Does that name have a special history or significance?
Our guild's name is “Lux Dei," which essentially means “God's Light." When founding our guild, we wanted a name for a real start from scratch. The name's been picked after many discussions and polls between the founding members. We wanted a name that's catchy on one hand, but also fitting to us on the other hand. A name we feel good with, something we can be proud of, carrying it throughout Tamriel! The name should represent a certain power and directness, so enemies fear it as well! So I think we nailed this with “Lux Dei."
When was your guild formed? Tell us the story of how the guild came to be.
Lux Dei was founded at the official launch of The Elder Scrolls Online (4/4/14). But our guild isn't as young as it may seem! Former members of Phönix and The First Guard came together to create a new guild. So Lux Dei essentially came into being as the fusion of two older guilds. Both guilds have been working together for years in different games (DAoC, SWG, WoW, WAR, SWTOR). Our enjoyment travelling together through foreign worlds and our informal community exist like a red thread throughout both our guild's histories. It's community first for us, closely followed by the ambitious goal to belong to the most successful PvP and PvE guilds.
What alliance has your guild sworn fealty to?
Lux Dei swore its allegiance to the Aldmeri Dominion.
Why did you choose that alliance?
Which other alliance? There's no other alliance besides the Aldmeri Dominion! And High Elves!
How many members does your guild currently have?
Right now we've got 40 closely connected active members.
Does your guild have a website?
Our website can be found at
www.lux-dei.de.
What times and days is the guild most active?
Many of us work or have family, so we're usually active between 6 and 11pm CEST. All guild events during the week happen at 7:30pm or later. On weekends, many of us play during the day as well.
What languages or countries do your members span?
We're a German speaking guild, but we accept Austrians as well.
What activities in ESOTU do your members enjoy doing together most?
We enjoy all aspects of the game. We've got some of everything starting from pure PvE players to the PvP only players. Our community is very important to us, as well. We craft together, explore together, we even bathe together sometimes (more on that later!).
What does your guild focus on in-game?
Lux Dei was founded by thoroughbred PvP'ers, so our main focus is PvP. But, over time, many PvE interested people joined as well. Right now, we've got a healthy mix of both PvP and PvE.
What makes your guild unique?
We've got a special leadership concept. In our guild, officers serve the members. That means the guild leadership puts the needs of every single member over their own.
What does this mean exactly? For example, every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, there's guild PvP. Those guild PvP evenings are meant as an “offer" by the guild leadership. Participation in these evenings is optional for all members, so you may as well just come online and do some quests.
Over time, we've become one of the most successful German-speaking PvP guilds of the EU Megaserver. At the same time, we never lost the family aspect and we're not depending on any “premade group". I think that's exactly the unique thing regarding our guild; it's hard to write it down with words, since you'll have to experience it yourself! I've often heard: “Once Lux Dei, always Lux Dei!"
Is your guild part of a larger alliance of guilds? Why did you join them?
When founding our guild, we joined the Aldmeri Council. The Aldmeri Council is one of the oldest alliances of the European Megaserver and includes guilds such as Beyond Infinity as a PvE behemoth, and many other well-known guilds.
Does your guild ever host special events? If so, tell us about them!
As mentioned already, every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday there's guild PvP at 7:30pm CEST. We can usually be found in the Azura's Star or Chillrend campaigns.
Tuesday and Thursday at 8:00pm CEST, as well as Sunday at 6:30pm CEST, are reserved for guild PvE. That's when we usually focus on ESOTU's Trials.
During these events, we'll also grab non-guild members who want to experience professional and well organized PvE/PvP.
What is your favorite or most memorable moment as a guild so far in ESOTU?
That's definitely our one year anniversary guild meeting. After a thrilling sermon by our guild priest Wursti Wurstkopf, we had lots of fun doing the guild photo. Later on, we even had a few party crashers from the Ebonheart Pact wanting to join our meeting.
Does your guild secretly (or not so secretly) follow a specific Daedric Prince? If so, which one?
We haven't sworn allegiance to any Daedric Prince. We're devoted to the goddess Mara!
After a long day of adventuring, where does your guild enjoy gathering to wind down?
Yes, we're a very faithful guild. We've even got our own guild priest. Due to this, we retreat to Brindell's cathedral with increasing regularity.
Tell us five fun facts about your guild.
1. We've got a guild priest.
2. We've got our own sneak band.
3. The light of Skyshards leaves us like bees around a honeypot.
4. Our guild baldy is an ESOTU celebrity. He can be seen in 2 ESOTU trailers!
5. Lu(yn)xes are very clean animals.
If people are interested in joining your guild, who should they contact?
Just talk to one of our council members: @XBeatrixX, @persie, @Wisler89, @Taonnor or have a look at our website and write an application.
