Gone to the Dunes – By Jo'vassa Kihir on TESO-RP
The dunes of Elsweyr were bathed in pale moonlight as a lone horse trotted along, leaving a loose trail of prints in the packed sand as its rider guided the beast along a narrow path through western Anequina. Reaper's March was still a day or so away, but Jo'ara paid no mind to her schedule. The Moons would guide her home as quickly as needed. Her dark leather uniform contrasted highly with the white steed and her own pale coat. A pair of yellow eyes glowed as she scanned for immediate threats. She was comfortable enough in her homeland, but that was no reason to be careless of the possible roving bandits or brigands – and they were the least of her worries in such times.

The girl in the water stared up at me, her vibrant blue eyes wide in a face far too dark and freckled for my liking. The skin was burnt and chapped from sun and wind, a few tendrils of wild hair escaping their cloth confines to tickle her nose. The face in the water pursed her thick lips at me in disapproval… Neither of us enjoyed what we saw it seemed. As I Dumped the bucket into the water with a dramatic splash I felt a smile tug at the corners of my lips, watching the reflection shatter into so many fragments, ripples destroying what was left of the disappointing water-child.

Hunts-for-Wisdom's dark scales reflected the candlelight, briefly revealing iridescent flashes. She sighed and adjusted the various implements she was holding in their small bags. There were waxes, oils and pigments but also various gems and pieces of parchment with scrawling on them. In some tightly stoppered jars sparkly salts sloshed around with every step. She headed, not to her usual practice room with the heavy wooden desk, but to the Mages Guild practice chamber which had the necessary safety measures that she felt might be needed for this round of experiments.
