02/19/2015

Want to take on the biggest challenges, explore the best tactics, and pocket the best loot? Let this ambitious German-speaking guild lead you beyond the boundaries of infinity.

In our latest guild spotlight, we interview “Beyond Infinity," who are often overcoming warriors, mages, and serpents in Craglorn or mastering the Dragonstar Arena—though the occasional expedition to Cyrodiil isn't out of the question! Are you a German-speaker interested in achievements and improving your position on the leaderboards? Then this is the guild for you!

Want to see your guild in the spotlight? We're on the lookout for more great guilds to showcase. Simply answer our questions—or even your own— in this discussion, add some nice screenshots, and maybe you'll see your own guild featured two weeks from now!

Beyond Infinity

What is your guild's name? Does that name have a special history or significance?

Beyond Infinity is our name and, at the same time, our motto! There are rumors that the founders of this guild wanted to create a community of PvE addicts—and it worked. The truth is that the founder of our guild was Captain Buzz Lightyear. “To infinity... and beyond!"

When was your guild formed? Tell us the story of how the guild came to be.

The guild was founded way back during the beta testing phase. We've lost the founding members in the meantime, but the oldest members have been on board since pre-release.

What alliance has your guild sworn fealty to?

We fight with wood, metal, and mead for the Undaunted in the Aldmeri Dominion.

Why did you choose that alliance?

Fluffy kittens, but it was also already foreseeable during beta (many of us were already a part of Tamriel back then) that the PvE-oriented players would gather here. It had that certain something.

How many members does your guild currently have?

75 members, of which 70 are currently active.

Does your guild have a website?

http://www.beyondinfinity.eu/

What times and days is the guild most active?

Trials run by our three different core groups take place between 6 and 11 in the evening. Chat really lights up then, and TeamSpeak even more so. We take on Trials and other PvE content five times a week, two or three evenings per group.

What countries do your members span?

We're a purely German-speaking guild. Austria, Switzerland, Netherlands, and Germany are represented in equal measure.

What activities in ESO do your members enjoy doing together the most?

As we're particularly interested in the PvE content, we like nothing more than exploring the boss mechanics and the tactics of new Trials together. The dailies are also completed enthusiastically, as our guild photo clearly shows.

What is your favorite activity when you gather in game? Pillaging dungeons, breaking into forts in Cyrodiil, trading and roleplaying in taverns, or working on your guild craftsmanship and business?

We have strong PvP players in our guild, but since we declare ourselves a PvE guild, that is our focus—and, of course, the trading of the resultant loot. Dungeons, Trials, dailies, PTS ... bring it on!

What makes your guild unique?

As a progression guild, we're in competition with other guilds on the EU megaserver, such as Hodor and Babyfacebananas, in terms of the Trials. Challenges only spur us on to even greater solidarity and success. Setbacks don't bother us a bit—they are analysed and redressed. So you could say our ambition always moves us forward without the guild being broken up by setbacks—we are oriented towards progress, but take care of each other. No one gets left behind.

Is your guild part of a larger alliance of guilds? Why did you join them?

In terms of new content, we want to focus primarily on ourselves as a guild. We collaborate with several guilds (e.g. the United Heroes of Tamriel alliance) so that we can support each other in Trials and in PvP.

Does your guild ever host special events? If so, tell us about them!

Our guild currently has three fixed 12-person groups for the current Trials. On Fridays, we help out in PvP or occasionally organize Trials for players who aren't in a core group in order to bring the weaker players closer to demanding content. Once a month, we have a TeamSpeak meeting, after which the individual classes converse among themselves to optimize their experiences, skills, and gear.

What is your favorite or most memorable moment as a guild so far in ESO?

After the release of Sanctum Ophidia, the Trial was worked on and explored by our guild every day. Once Mantikora was defeated for the first time after 12 days, we thought the end of the Trial couldn't be any worse. After 40 days, the Serpent was finally defeated and the guild was nearly in tears with relief.

After a long day of adventuring, where does your guild enjoy gathering to wind down?

After a hard day of Trials, we meet in the Dragonstar Arena to relax. Some in the thick of battle, others in the rankings over a nice tankard of mead.

Tell us five fun facts about your guild!

  • We have already worn out three guild leaders.
  • The Animals' mascot is a pig called Bacon.
  • “You're only in the group because we're afraid there'll be something in the next content where 12 platforms need to be activated."
  • We have an orc that's so *** that he can't fall through the holes in the 9th stage of “DSA."
  • We're a raid guild. We aren't amusing.

If people are interested in joining your guild, who should they contact?
